2009 has come too fast!! I used to think that by now we would be able to buy real estate on the moon or Mars. Now we are just lucky to be able to buy real estate in Idaho.
We had a wonderful Christmas visiting with our families and playing with our toys. Our family received a Wii from Santa Clause and so Andrew was a happy, smiley, and content zombie child for two weeks playing video games with cousins and friends and by himself. I think he hardly spoke to us voluntarily for three days when we were up visiting Grandma and Grandpa Lind. He was also busy playing Clone Wars on his DS, so you know I just feel like an amazing parent trying to distill the uselessness of human conversation in my child.
Steven got his miniature, leather scriptures and case. I ordered them on-line and was amazed they made it to us in time. I didn't order till the last minute (although he didn't tell me until the last minute what he wanted--lucky guy--he almost got guitar hero. ) Speaking of lucky, Steven has all the luck. Every year it seems he wins some contest or falls in the path of luck as it passes by. This year he went to Barnes and Nobles to do some shopping and decides to drop his name in a box for a Wii drawing that was going to take place in less than 20 minutes. Well, he doesn't wait around--the odds of winning are oh so slim Right? He walks in the door at home and the phone rings to say he had won it. I truly wish he would play the lottery when he was having his amazing luck. Guess he just isn't that lucky!!
Steven had his third surgery on his foot and to date he says "it feels wonderful." My fingers are crossed that this one works. He won't be able to have a fourth one the doctor said. His foot heel is already Swiss cheese.
Tonight I am both celebrating and dreading tomorrow. It is my last of six Chemos. I can not relate in words how happy I am that this part of the treatment is over. I hate getting a case of the flu every three weeks. Now my glossy, shinny, dome can recover and grow me some insulation from all this cold and my eyebrows and eyelashes can exhale for not loosing every soul. Next will be five or six weeks of radiation which I hear is a piece of cake--usually. They have to put that "usually" in there for the odd ones who can't eat cake.
About the picture at the top of my blog--I know it isn't a family picture, but I found the lantern and the carpet were so beautiful. The painting was done by a Russian Artist named Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov. Check him out. He was an amazing painter who dealt with a lot of legends and mythology. Anyway, if you are into that sort of thing. His detail are truly shall I say glorious. What a talent!!

I love the look of your blog. Very cute. Good luck on your last Chemo. I am so glad it is your last. You'll be in our continued prayers. Hope things go well for Steven's foot too. I've said this before, you are such a great writer. You make me laugh every time you write.

Good luck on your last chemo, I bet radiation will be a lot easier. You are a true inspiration. As for the Wii, I'm glad Andrew likes it, Brandon and Ashly love it too, they do turn into zombies, and if I didn't stop them from playing they'd probably never eat, shower or sleep.
Thank you for the update, we have been wondering how you were doing. Hang in there! Sounds like Steven is on the mend too.
